Whale Medicine

Here I've combined my love of the circular form with watercolor, handmade linen paper, real (legal) feathers, shells and stones. The scene in the center is from the Northern California coast near where I live. I love the whales, what incredible creatures they are! These are humpback whales which are noted for their beautiful songs. Many myths talk about how life sprang from the sea, and the whale has become a symbol of creation.
