35.2.3 Converting a single MIF or DCL file

To convert a single FrameMaker MIF file with the Mif2Go DCL filter:

1. Open a "console" (MS-DOS) window: Start > Programs > MS-DOS Prompt

2. Change to the folder where you saved the MIF file and placed a configuration file.

3. At the command-line prompt, enter the following command:

dcl -ttype -foutput source.mif

where the options are as follows:

[spacer]

type

One of the following:
rtf (for Word, WordPerfect, or WinHelp; the default)
htm (for any HTML/XML type)
inf (document information)

output

One of the options listed for the -f argument in Table 35-1.

source

Name of the file to be converted.

The option you specify for -f overrides any output format specified under [Options] in the configuration file. If you omit the -f argument, the Mif2Go DCL filter uses the format specified in the [Options] section.

4. Press Enter to convert the file.
