7.10.2 Adding ALinks and KLinks with markers

To create ALinks and KLinks in WinHelp with markers, use the methods described in the following sections:

§6.6.4.1 Adding related-topic link keywords via markers

§6.6.5 Adding ALink and KLink jumps in FrameMaker

Additional settings required for ALinks

However, for ALink target markers in WinHelp, you need two additional settings. Because Mif2Go does not recognize ALink markers for RTF output, you must assign an existing FrameMaker marker type to ALink. For example:

[Markers]

ALink=Subject

You must also include the following setting (which uses the ancient FrameMaker numeric marker ID instead of the marker name) to apply ALink target properties to the marker. For example:

[HelpOptions]

; ALinkMarkerType = number of marker type to convert to A footnotes

; use 4 (Subject), 5 (Author), 6 (Glossary), or a custom type

; 0 (the default) disables the conversion

ALinkMarkerType=4
