1.1.4 Install updates to Mif2Go
As long as you are using the same version of FrameMaker located in the same place on your system, you can install updates to Mif2Go as follows:
1. Extract the distribution files into your Mif2Go distribution folder.
2. Exit FrameMaker, if you happen to have it open.
3. Double-click your desktop shortcut to InstallMif2Go.bat. (No file named InstallMif2Go.bat? Create one; see §1.1.3 Create or replace the Mif2Go installation script.)
Each Mif2Go update package is complete. Mif2Go does not look for a previous installation on your system. Mif2Go developers make every effort to ensure backward compatibility with prior versions.
Updates do not affect CSS or configuration files
You do not have to replace configuration files or templates, or CSS files, when you update Mif2Go. In a few cases you might want to add settings to your configuration files or CSS files (see § New information and check history.txt), but we try hard not to break existing settings.
Change from evaluation to licensed version
You do not need an activation code to change from the evaluation version of Mif2Go to the licensed version (see §D.1 Evaluation version is different). Only two files are different: drmif.dll and readme.txt. All other components are identical. Just copy the licensed drmif.dll to your Windows system folder (see §Table 1-1 Where to place Mif2Go executable files), overwriting the drmif.dll file that came with the evaluation version. That will eliminate the "Jabberwocky" effect.
