1.1.1 For first-time users of Mif2Go

If you are new to Mif2Go:

1. Create a folder for your Mif2Go distribution files, anywhere except in the FrameMaker plug-ins folder. Extract into this folder all the files from the Mif2Go distribution package you downloaded.

2. Exit FrameMaker, if you have it open.

3. Copy files from the Mif2Go distribution folder, and delete .cache from Plugins:

Copy:	d*.dll	to:	YourWindowsFolder\system32
Copy:	*.exe	to:	YourWindowsFolder\system32
Copy:	ugmif2go.chm	to:	YourWindowsFolder\Help
Copy:	m*.dll	to:	YourFrameMakerFolder\fminit\Plugins
Delete:	.cache	from:	YourFrameMakerFolder\fminit\Plugins

where YourWindowsFolder is most likely C:\Windows, and YourFrameMakerFolder is something like:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\FrameMaker7.2

4. Then:

§1.4.2 Start Mif2Go

§1.4.3 Try a conversion.

If you run into problems, check the instructions in §1.4.1 Install Mif2Go.

If you decide to keep Mif2Go, §1.1.3 Create or replace the Mif2Go installation script.
