License for Standard version of DCL Mif2Go filter to run under Windows NT/9x/2K/ME/XP, including one full year of upgrades. Upon full payment, you are granted an unlimited, royalty-free nonexclusive license to use (but not to resell or redistribute) the subject software in perpetuity. You may make whatever number of copies are required for convenient use of the number of licenses purchased, and for archiving and backup purposes. Resale Other licensing arrangements, including bundling and resale licenses, are available; please contact us to discuss the specifics. In general, we are open to such arrangements only when the filter is being used in conjuction with another product, where the other product is the primary item. For example, a company engaged in translation could use our filter to import FrameMaker files as a customized form of RTF, as a front end to a translation-memory system. Such licenses tend to have an initial engineering cost component, and a per-unit royalty based on sales volume that is similar to the per-unit costs of our small-site licenses. We do not resell our Standard filter, as such, through VARs and third-party distributors. It does not make sense for us to do so. The feedback we get from direct customer contacts is important to us and to the development of our products; if we insulate ourselves from it, we all lose. Then too, we would not be able to offer the rock-bottom prices we do if we had to allow for discounts to resellers; we'd have to double our prices, and that would make us less accessible. We know that there are good and valid reasons for manufacturers to sell through third parties, and don't mean to put them down. They just don't fit with the way we need to relate to our customers. | ||||
